Information about where to find the rehabilitation units and the amenities available at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH).

General rehabilitation has moved

General rehabilitation has moved from Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre and is now located in the five-level Kangkanthi building at TQEH.

There are two general rehabilitation units in the Kangkanthi building:

  • Tarnma Rehabilitation Unit (orthopaedic, amputee and burns) on level 3.
    Tarnma is the Kaurna word for Banksia.
  • Karra Rehabilitation Unit (stroke) on level 4.
    Karra is the Kaurna word for Red Gum.

Rehabilitation unit features

The rehabilitation units include:

  • single patient bedrooms with en-suites
  • open-plan lounge, dining and kitchen area
  • dedicated outdoor terrace
  • therapy gyms and therapy spaces
  • patient laundry facilities
  • South Australian landscape photography throughout each level.
