In an emergency, always call triple zero (000) for an ambulance.

Ambulances are the safest way to be assessed, treated and transported to the right hospital for the care you need.

Triple zero (000) is a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For less severe but still urgent situations, go to an emergency department.

All public hospital emergency departments in metropolitan Adelaide are all available 24 hours a day, 7 days.

You should call triple zero (000) if a person experiences:

  • chest pain or tightness
  • difficulty breathing
  • sudden collapse or an unexplained fall
  • fits or seizures
  • uncontrollable bleeding
  • serious burns
  • unconsciousness
  • a fall from a great height
  • injury from a motor vehicle accident
  • serious assault
  • fits, allergic reactions or ongoing fever in infants, the elderly or vulnerable persons.
